Colorado Energy, with a long and successful history of Project Management, EPC, Start-up and O&M is focused on growing the Construction Management division of our business. We will leverage this expertise and deliver the same leadership, industry knowledge and quality management services to new construction management customers.
Currently, Colorado Energy is gathering resumes of candidates experienced in all phases of construction management field, including experience with the following projects: natural gas fired power plants, coal fired power plants, combined cycle power plants, biomass power plants, wind energy farms, and solar power projects.
Qualified candidates must have specific power plant construction management experience which includes the ability to plan, direct, coordinate or budget, usually through subordinate supervisory personnel, activities concerned with the engineering, construction and maintenance of power plants, facilities and systems. Candidates must have experience in the conceptual development of a construction project and oversee its organization, scheduling and implementation.
Specific responsibilities may include:
- Determine labor requirements and dispatch workers to construction sites
- Inspect and review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes and other regulations
- Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to administrative staff, workers, and clients that represent the owner or developer
- Prepare contacts and negotiate revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with architects, clients, suppliers and subcontractors
- Obtains all necessary permits and licenses
- Direct and supervise workers
- Study job specifications to determine appropriate construction methods
- Select, contract and oversee workers who complete specific pieces of the project, such as welding and pipefitting
- Requisition supplies and materials to complete construction projects
- Prepare and submit budget estimates and progress and cost tracking reports
- Develop and implement quality control programs
- Take actions to deal with the results of delays, bad weather or emergencies at the construction site
- Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors and engineers to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints and construction issues
- Plan, organize and direct activities concerned with the construction and maintenance of structures, facilities and systems
- Investigate damage, accidents or delays at construction sites, to ensure that proper processes and procedures are being carried out
- Evaluate construction methods and determine cost-effectiveness of plans, utilizing computer software
